Move over May and hello June: the best month to be gay. Between the month-long LGBTQ pride celebration and quite literally hundreds of Pride parades, June is by far one of the best months to be a lesbian.
But as we approach the summer months, the question on everybody’s mind is, will there be Pride this year?
Since last year we were in the thick of the pandemic, most lesbians were forced to celebrate the holiday in the confines of our homes and apartments. While virtual celebrations do have their perks (no makeup, no long bathroom lines), the point of Pride is to come together and experience our community in person with our fellow lesbians, gays, and beyond.

So, what’s happening this year? The answer depends on where you’re located. Palm Springs recently announced that they will have an in-person celebration in November (dates are Nov. 6-7, click here for more details). On the other hand, L.A. will continue with a virtual celebration (including a free TikTok concert from Charlie XCX). And New York City will be a hybrid of both virtual and in-person events.
Either way, whether it’s this June, some month in the future, or next year, we look forward to the day we get to see your faces in person.
