Founded in 2004, this New York-based publishing house offers diverse lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer fiction, as well as other literary works.
Since its initial opening, Bold Stroke Books has made quite the splash in the community. In fact, in 2007, Bold Strokes Books became the first LGBTQ publisher to be formally recognized by the Romance Writers of America.

And it’s easy to see why. They have an immense selection of books with a wide variety of erotica, fiction, young adult fiction, thrillers, romances, and more. They publish gay and non-binary writers and novels as well.

Bold Stroke Books even have an open submission policy where they carefully review each manuscript submission in order to curate the most authentic voices. They are especially eager to receive submissions from Black, Indigenous, and People of Color writers. If you’re a lesbian writer and have that perfect novel buried away in a desk drawer, pull it out, dust it off, and submit it now for a chance to get published.
