Sam Jay: Pause

If you’re anything up on the lesbian comedy world, then you’ve most definitely heard of lesbian standup comedienne Sam Jay.

We’re a huge fan of our lesbian sister! And it’s easy to see why. Emmy nominated, Sam Jay has a quick wit and boldly defines all labels and boundaries. She released her Netflix comedy special 3 In The Morning a few years ago (which is phenomenal and one hundred percent worth checking out). She has also written for SNL, has performed in The Comedy Lineup, and has had cameos in shows like Take My Wife, Broad City, Shrill, and more.

Basically, what we’re saying is she’s great, and if you haven’t had a chance to watch some of her work, now is the time to do so.

But what should you start with? Well, you can dive right into her new content as she just released her take on a late-night talk show with her HBO show Pause

Black, female, and gay, Sam Jay weaves in fascinating perspectives on somewhat uncomfortable conversations and blends comedy effortlessly in awkward situations revolving around being gay and black in America.

You may disagree with some of the remarks people in the show make, but at least you’ll leave with some new perspectives. Plus, she conducts these very candid, non-judgemental conversations in a tolerant, patient, and graceful way; which is something we think the world needs right now. What more could you want? Check it out now!
