Top 3 Activities To Do With Your Kids This Summer

Summer’s in full swing, and that means if you have kids at home, chances are they’ve probably run out of things to do. After all, there’s only so much Netflix you can binge. Especially since we spent the last year and a half inside, it’s so important to break out of your home and experience the world together.

But, finding activities to share with your kids can be challenging. Below, here are a few summer activities to explore with your children.

Build A Free Library

If you’ve walked around your neighborhood recently, you may have noticed a new trend of tiny bird-house-looking structures on people’s mailboxes or their front lawns. These are free neighborhood libraries, which you fill with books and then lend out to your neighborhood for free based on the honor system.

Building a free library with your child is an excellent way to show how much you value literature and your community. Plus, creating a free library together is an empowering activity that will teach your child new skills and help them gain self-confidence.

Take A Class Together

Depending on how old your kids are, you might have a lot of fun exploring new interests together. Taking a ceramics class, a kickboxing class, or a cooking class together would be a fun way to bond and explore new skills. This is especially fun if both you and your child have no experience in the class. Help them break out of their comfort zone by showing them it’s okay to be bad at something at first: just relax and have fun exploring a new interest.

Visit A Community Garden

Showing your child the value of growing your food is a beautiful moment to experience together. If you live in a city and don’t have the ability to grow food at home, you may have better luck checking to see if your neighborhood has a community garden.

Even if there are no openings available, taking your child to tour the community garden is a fun way to experience life and nature together.
